Here's a very unusual pattern of behavior I noticed
among nudibranchs of this particular species observed at
Batangas, Philippines... this 'branch is facing the
current, as though it's sniffing the water. I have seen
this odd behavior a number of times on different dives
over a long period of time. I only observed this
particular species engaging in this behavior.
Scientists theorize this "opportunistic"
behavior among certain nudibranchs is to catch food
floating by, or to reach another footing should the
surface they are currently "standing" on cast
adrift.
