This
juvenile spiny or rock lobster is only about 1 1/2 inches (4 cm) in
length. Small lobsters are more colorful photo subjects
compared to fully grown specimens, which are likely to have encrustation
and bland colors. The older lobsters are also more elusive and difficult
to approach. The long antenna of these lobsters will easily break off if seized by a predator, though they will eventually be restored through growth. ----------------------------------------------------------------- |
