picture of nudibranch

A very interesting color pattern... as I remember, this was one of only a few photos I took when my great friend Bob Wolfe and I (a fellow USAF flying squadron member and underwater photographer) went on a brief vacation to Puerto Galera, located off one of the Philippine islands just south of Luzon (the main island). It was disastrous overall-- rainy season, big waves-- such bad weather the boat drivers wouldn't take us out to dive. I made a beach dive and encountered this species in about 30 feet of water. It was the first and only time I ever encountered this variety of nudibranch.

Identification:
Glossodoris cruentus
